Lunch at The Line

I heard several good recommendations about The Line Restaurant at Shangri-La Hotel but never had a chance to try it till today.

Christmas dinner @ Azur, Crowne Plaza Changi Airport

This is my second time at Azur but the first time for Christmas dinner. But most surprising is seeing the sashimi and a quick check with NEA website provides the assurances.

Lunch at Starz Restaurant, Resort World Sentosa

There’s a slew of SG50 dining promotions at Resort World Sentosa. I had a go at Starz and am happy with the selection, the pictures speak for themselves.

Lunch @ Penang Place

Today, I started trying out a new way to take buffet pictures. Instead of photographing the food as the way they were laid out for diners, how about preparing them on my plates instead. Nice try but lots of room for improvement.

Buffet @ Seafood International Market & Restaurant

I love food photography and find À la carte buffet’s setting the best for this purpose. This time, my friend and I came to Seafood International Market & Restaurant at East Coast Park (former Big Splash) not just for food, but to really capture some food pixels.

Despite its slogan, “if it swims, we have it”, not everything they had is on the buffet menu.

I think most probably I busted my annual cholesterol limit in one day and have to go simple for the rest of the year 🙂 Anyway, the food is really good and definitely be back again with my family, just for the food.

Food

Lunch @ Suki-Ya, Marina Square

My wife and I about 3 hours to ourselves in between mother’s day celebration at our children’s child care centre and chanced upon this restaurant. We didn’t want something heavy but end up having buffet instead.

DSC04305

This is our first time here and even though typical buffet strategy was to go  for the meat, we helped ourselves to the vegetables instead.

DSC04301

DSC04310

The dual soup pot reminds me of the typical Chinese steamboats in Bugis, complete with multiple sauces as well.

DSC04306

We are not vegetarian though, and did help ourselves to many servings of the yummy sliced beef and chicken.

And lastly, finishing off we some fruits.

Overall, the food was simple but good and didn’t burn a hole in our pocket.

Lunch at Carousel

This is the day I look forward to for quite some time, buffet lunch! I could no longer eat as much compared to my younger days. But right now, I have a different philosophy when it comes to buffet, just help myself to those dishes I like and enjoy the spread. So yes, the spread is very important. DSC04113_upload Arriving at the lobby of Scotts Singapore Hotel, where the Carousel is located. DSC04091_upload Before I started eating, I could feel the difference with typical buffet restaurant, even the cutlery is presented differently. Enough of cosmetics, let’s get down to the main theme, food. DSC04050_upload For all international buffet, sushi and sashimi are must-have, DSC04049_upload as well as teppanyaki. But the main draw here, I presume, is their seafood selection (minus oyster and lobster). DSC04052_upload DSC04051_upload DSC04053_upload DSC04054_upload Besides seafood, there are both healthier delights such as salads, DSC04093_upload and simple cheese & bread… DSC04069_upload DSC04058_upload .. and meats… DSC04055_upload DSC04064_upload …  and pasta … DSC04063_upload … one of my favorites, local delights… DSC04060_upload Once I’m done with the starters, the main courses, the desert selection can still entice my near full stomach.     DSC04072_upload DSC04067_upload

DSC04100_upload

DSC04098_upload And there is a chocolate fondue, but I’m more interested in the marshmallow than the following chocolate. DSC04102_upload Spread wise, I have no complains. Taste wise, I won’t reward it full stars though. Nonetheless, good lunch!
