SATS Premier Lounge

dsc09239_upload

I have to catch a flight at 9.20am and left home very early to avoid the jam to the airport. I would have grab a quick breakfast if not for a complimentary access to the lounge, blessing from the DBS Altitude card. This card came with a priority pass with two complimentary access to many lounges all over the world (see here). In fact, there are quite a few travel friendly credit cards that provide lounge access as well (see here). However, as far as I’m concern, I still prefer the Altitude over the rest because its annual fee can be waived if a minimum amount is charged to the card per year. At 25,000, it is quite doable if all the combined family expenses are charged to it. So the travel benefits and air miles really comes with no additional cost.

Anyway, here’s what I enjoyed for free.

This is the first time Castells (human tower) is performed in Singapore. The performers were from Minyons de Terrassa and they hold the world record for the largest “Castell”.

Not too sure why they will bite their shirt collars.

The men will anchor, then the ladies then the toddlers start to climb.

They climbed 3 times. First two was similar but the last one was spectacular. A single column was left after they were done.

Can see how shag the anchor man is.

UK’s Red Arrows flypast in Singapore

After two disappointing postponements, the Red Arrows finally flew over Singapore’s Marina Bay arrow.

The weather was very hot and by 1.15pm, I’m not quite sure whether there would be a third postponement or cancellation of the performance.

Fortunately, within a few minutes, we finally saw the red planes.

Another trip to the Lower Peirce Reservoir

The last time I went to Lower Peirce Reservoir was in 2014 and it was too cloudy then. I decided to make another trip today when a good weather coincide with a free day for me.

Similar scenes to those taken two years ago but I prefer the sky now.

I didn’t have time to explore the trails last time, so I make up for it today.

I didn’t have much luck spotting wildlife or insects and have to make do with these.

I would have missed a group of wild boar if not for a father-daughter pair and fortunately grab a shot before they ran away into the bushes.
