Huayi-Chinese Festival of Arts, 2016

Another must go event for my family during Chinese New Year period is the Huayi- Chinese Festival of Arts held annually at the Esplanade.

Due to the late afternoon rain, the opening event, Lion Dance by Wen Yang Sports Assocation, was held indoors instead but the crowd support was still very good.

After some quick dinner, we were treated to nice a music event, Festive Strings, put up by StringWerkz at the concourse.

Immediately following this, the finale of the day is the traditional delights performed by various artists.

There are two drum segments, the first is good but the second was interesting due to its performing members, ranging from very young to very old. And as if timed to make it more interesting, the 9pm nightly fireworks kicked off from the floating platform during the performance.

Coming next are dance performances.

 

And a huge bunch of very cute children put up a good show to the laughter of the audience.

Then was another dance segment.

And the finale was actually the theme character of most performances this year, the Monkey King.
