Lunch @ Penang Place

Today, I started trying out a new way to take buffet pictures. Instead of photographing the food as the way they were laid out for diners, how about preparing them on my plates instead. Nice try but lots of room for improvement.

Penang fried kway teow. This dish is very popular. The moment the tray is topped up, its emptied within moments.

Lunch at Gurney Drive

I always love the food in Penang and after trying many places, Gurney Drive served the nearest resemblance in terms of taste. Of course there is still a sizable gap, but eating here beats travelling all the way north to feast my favorite dishes, char kway teow and laksa.

The Penang version is ‘whiter’ compared to sg variant.

Most probably there is a problem getting the original bee hoon from Penang, the texture (口感) is quite different.

And lastly, my favorite desert, Penang chendol, they called it Chenrey there.
