I was inspired by a picture of the drying Eco-Lake on the Straits Times and decided to go down for some pictures. Since I just retired my aging Sony Cybershot HX9V with its latest successor, Sony Cybershot HX50v (a much upgraded version with 30x optical zoom), I might as well use this opportunity to test out the new camera. It is not actually ‘new’ because I got a used copy from Bhphotovideo.com. Given the quick technology refresh rate, I no longer buy new gadgets. Patience always yield steep discounts.
When I got there, the sight really stunned me. The prolonged dry spell really hit water bodies such as Eco-Lake quite badly.

Other than the much reduced lake, there was little sign (at least to my eyes) the flora and fauna are much affected… yet.
Anyway, hope the dry spell end soon. Rain rain.. please come back 🙂
I went to the Singapore Airshow 2014 on Friday, the last of its trade days. I believe it was much more crowded today than the previous days.
Nonetheless, I swung into action within one hour from leaving Expo.
There are obviously many many planes, but actually lacks variety.
Boeing jet the Dreamliner, Boeing 787
This year, I really don’t find the planes interesting. But the gigantic posters caught my eye.
There were many students today, and perhaps the only day they could attend.
And perhaps only they are sporting enough to make such coordinated jump shot possible.
And finally, the main event I’m waiting for, the flying display, especially by the RSAF Black Knights.
Went with my colleagues for a Chinese New Year lunch at Miao Yi, a Chinese vegetarian restaurant. Due to the festive season, there are special dishes as well.

Other than these, we ordered simple dishes as well.
Compared to Indian vegetarian, Chinese vegetarian is really meant for those who can tame their mouths, but not their mind. 戒口不戒心。
